Artist
statement
My own life and work is a journey toward simplicity, non-materiality
and reflection. I look for meaning, leaving behind the mad, wound-up
lifestyle of the great American suburb. Like some other contemporary
western artists (Marina Abramovic, Alistair MacLennan, Wolfgang Laib),
I look East to Zen concepts of acceptance, compassion, non-linear
time and impermanence. I embrace meditation as a tool for living and
making art. It is a pathway into my unconscious mind -- my authentic
self -- where I sift and search for meaning and value. Images gleaned
from this place make up my work.
